Good morning everyone. Happy Friday! As we discussed yesterday, I'm out today to take my daughter to the a doctors appointment for some tests. While I'm out, I would like you to continue working on your vector. Remember to draw around each color and close the shape. Don't forget that Tuesday will be the test on Raster and Vector material. There is a page in the vectoring folder that has links to the Quizlets and Kahoot if you would like to study. Hope you have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning! Hope your having a terrific Friday morning. Today I'm out with my daughter as we discussed yesterday. So what should you do today? If you have not yet completed the Vector project, please make that your top priority. If you complete the vector, then move on to the screen printing project that I introduced yesterday. Start with a theme... the Boston Red Sox for example. Then create a set of four different thumbnail sketches revolving around that theme. The goal isn't to just use four different color or size Red Sox logos, but to think like a Graphic Designer and try to brainstorm some unique and different ideas. A designer that would just create 4 different color shirts with the same design/logo on them wouldn't keep their job very long! Sketch these four ideas out on paper but don't panic if they aren't flawless! It's just a rough idea and drawing. Here's the page on the site with an example and more details. Once they are completed, then you can grab a new sheet of paper and sketch a larger, cleaner version of the design that you like best. Color it with colored pencils once it's completely drawn. This is your rough and is basically the blueprint for how your screen printed design should look. If both of these plans are completed (the four thumbnails and the rough), you can begin to create a vector of your image. So to summarize, complete your vector and choose a theme for screen printing. Then draw four thumbnail sketches that revolve around that theme. Choose the best and make a bigger, cleaner rough of your favorite thumbnails and then color it with colored pencils. Once the rough is made, you can move on to making a vector of your design. Hope you have a great day today and I will see you Monday!

Period 4
Hello everyone, just a reminder that the class will not meet today as I'm out with my daughter. I would like you to continue to work on the Merging Project (which you have done by now), the Color for Emphasis, and if both of these are done, the Ill Dog. I have added a bunch of videos to the website to help you through the tougher parts of the Illustrator Dog. If you need help I can request you Monday for AP/Flex time. Hope all goes well for you. Have a good day and a great weekend!
Period 5
Good afternoon photography nerds! Hope you're having a great day today. Obviously I'm not there to ruin the day for you so that's good! So what should you do today? Well if you have not yet wrapped up either the Merging project or the Color for Emphasis, that should be your top priority. Color for Emphasis is due today. If both Merging and Emphasis are done, yesterday we started to vector the Penn State logo as a class. Finish it up if you haven't. The next drawing assignment is the Illustrator Dog. He's a bit lame looking, but using only shapes, no pen tool I would like you to draw him. The better he lines up with the original, the more accurate the color and shape, the better the grade it will earn. Here you will find a link to the handout that explains how to do it, the starting file and a multitude of videos to help you through the project. If you need help with it, add your name to the orange notepad and I'll request you Monday to help you. Finally, you have 10 portrait pictures due today. Be sure to upload them before midnight to receive full credit. Don't worry about the proof sheet, we'll get to that on Monday. For next Friday, I would like you to take 10 pictures from a different perspective. You have a week to take them but I thought I should bring it up today so that you have the weekend to take them if you want. So today, finish Merging and Color for Emphasis first if you haven't yet done so. Then move on to completing the Practice Vector and if it is complete, you should start the Illustrator Dog. That may sound like a lot of work but most of you already have large parts or even all of it most of those projects done. Hope you have a great day and a fantastic weekend everyone!
