Periods 3 & 5
Hello there. Hope your day is going well and that you had a fantastic weekend. Today marks the end of vectors and that start of the touch ups unit. This means that your logo is due today, so before you move over to the touch ups unit, complete and turn in your logo. To get started on the new unit, I'd like you to first watch this short video. I can't and won't teach you to do the makeup part, but some of the Photoshop techniques we will cover. The purpose of the video is to show you how touched up photos can and often are. I don't want you to think that I'm saying this is how we all should look... not at all! I want you to see and be able to do some of these things that photographers commonly do to make their subjects look more glamorous.

So let's get started! We'll start simple and work up to the more challenging tasks. First, I'd like you to find one of your photos in which the subject has a mole, pimple, birthmark or other slight and small mark. This video will explain how to remove the blemish. It's pretty simple, but to do it well might require some experimenting. Before you start, save a the photo. Then choose File>Save As, and save it as Your Name Clone Stamp After so that you can upload a before and after version to Schoology. If you used the Clone Stamp correctly, I won't be able to tell that there was ever a blemish there so I need the original to compare to.

The second little assignment for today is to remove bags, wrinkles or dark circles below the eyes. Here is a video that explains the technique. It's pretty easy to do, but keep in mind that it will not completely remove the dark circle. Instead it will blend the dark skin or wrinkles with other skin. Give it a try, but first save the original version and then instantly do a Save As and again use your name Dark Circles After so that you have the before and after in separate files. Give it a try!

Both of these assignments will be due on Wednesday so you have time to experiment and perfect your work! Hope it goes well and that you have a fantastic day today! Don't hesitate to email me if you have a question!
