Period 2
Good morning everyone. Happy Friday! As we discussed yesterday, I'm out today to take my daughter to the a doctors appointment for some tests. While I'm out, I would like you to continue working on your vector. Remember to draw around each color and close the shape. Don't forget that Tuesday will be the test on Raster and Vector material. There is a page in the vectoring folder that has links to the Quizlets and Kahoot if you would like to study. Hope you have a great weekend everyone!

Period 3

Good morning! Hope your having a terrific Friday morning. Today I'm out with my daughter as we discussed yesterday. So what should you do today? If you have not yet completed the Vector project, please make that your top priority. If you complete the vector, then move on to the screen printing project that I introduced yesterday. Start with a theme... the Boston Red Sox for example. Then create a set of four different thumbnail sketches revolving around that theme. The goal isn't to just use four different color or size Red Sox logos, but to think like a Graphic Designer and try to brainstorm some unique and different ideas. A designer that would just create 4 different color shirts with the same design/logo on them wouldn't keep their job very long! Sketch these four ideas out on paper but don't panic if they aren't flawless! It's just a rough idea and drawing. Here's the page on the site with an example and more details. Once they are completed, then you can grab a new sheet of paper and sketch a larger, cleaner version of the design that you like best. Color it with colored pencils once it's completely drawn. This is your rough and is basically the blueprint for how your screen printed design should look. If both of these plans are completed (the four thumbnails and the rough), you can begin to create a vector of your image. So to summarize, complete your vector and choose a theme for screen printing. Then draw four thumbnail sketches that revolve around that theme. Choose the best and make a bigger, cleaner rough of your favorite thumbnails and then color it with colored pencils. Once the rough is made, you can move on to making a vector of your design. Hope you have a great day today and I will see you Monday!

Period 4

Hello everyone, just a reminder that the class will not meet today as I'm out with my daughter. I would like you to continue to work on the Merging Project (which you have done by now), the Color for Emphasis, and if both of these are done, the Ill Dog. I have added a bunch of videos to the website to help you through the tougher parts of the Illustrator Dog. If you need help I can request you Monday for AP/Flex time. Hope all goes well for you. Have a good day and a great weekend!

Period 5
Good afternoon photography nerds! Hope you're having a great day today. Obviously I'm not there to ruin the day for you so that's good! So what should you do today? Well if you have not yet wrapped up either the Merging project or the Color for Emphasis, that should be your top priority. Color for Emphasis is due today. If both Merging and Emphasis are done, yesterday we started to vector the Penn State logo as a class. Finish it up if you haven't. The next drawing assignment is the Illustrator Dog. He's a bit lame looking, but using only shapes, no pen tool I would like you to draw him. The better he lines up with the original, the more accurate the color and shape, the better the grade it will earn. Here you will find a link to the handout that explains how to do it, the starting file and a multitude of videos to help you through the project. If you need help with it, add your name to the orange notepad and I'll request you Monday to help you. Finally, you have 10 portrait pictures due today. Be sure to upload them before midnight to receive full credit. Don't worry about the proof sheet, we'll get to that on Monday. For next Friday, I would like you to take 10 pictures from a different perspective. You have a week to take them but I thought I should bring it up today so that you have the weekend to take them if you want. So today, finish Merging and Color for Emphasis first if you haven't yet done so. Then move on to completing the Practice Vector and if it is complete, you should start the Illustrator Dog. That may sound like a lot of work but most of you already have large parts or even all of it most of those projects done. Hope you have a great day and a fantastic weekend everyone!

Period 2
Good morning! Hope you are warm and cozy at home this morning. Didn't see this coming for today, but I'll take it! So here's the plan for today. I would like you to watch the lesson on Rasters vs. Vectors. It's the same lesson that I would be giving you in class, just with me doing it virtually instead of in person. If you have any questions or need anything I will have a Meet open throughout the class period. You don't have to join me, I'm there if you need me. Tomorrow we will continue on with our practice vector. Hope you have a great day!

Period 3
Good morning everyone. Hope your morning is going well so far. I'll try not to ruin it! Having completed (or nearly completed) our first vector, I would like you to watch this video on Rasters vs. Vectors. I explained yesterday, very briefly, that the images we make in Ai are vectors. This video will explain what that means and how they are different from the photos that you capture on your phone. There will be a quiz coming next week on these types of images so please watch and try to understand the differences. Those of you that have not finished the practice vector, please complete that today. Tomorrow as a class we will shrink the image down and turn it in. If you need help, or have any questions, I will have a Meet open through the class. You don't have to join the Meet but I encourage you to pop in if you have any questions or need help. Have a great day everyone!

Period 4
Hello there photographers, we will have our Meet as usual today, just a bit early. In class today we will talk about taking a picture of you to add to the photo you found from the web, uploading the photos to Google Drive and then downloading the photo to your laptop. All of these videos can be found on this page of the website. Finally, we will look for an image on Google to use to make a practice selection. This image could be used in the final project but does not have to be. The main goal here is just to just learn to make a selection. I'll see you in the Meet today at 10:30.

What are we learning today?
1. Review
2. Discuss Taking Pictures
3. Uploading a Photo to Drive (iOS or Android)
4. Discuss Downloading pictures
5. Finding a Prop Image
6. Objectives to Accomplish Today:

Period 5
Good morning photography nerds! Hope your having a good day at home. Today, if you haven't found the image that you are going to use for your practice selection, I would like you to find and save an image. Remember that the image should not have a simple, one color background. We will use that image in class tomorrow since we aren't together in class today. Instead, today I would like you to watch this video on taking effective portraits. We'll talk more about portraits tomorrow. If you have any questions on need any help, I will have a Meet open throughout class today. You are not required to join, but please pop in if you have any questions or need help! Have a great day today!
