Notepad
- Choose a theme for your notepad
- Grab a sheet of paper & fold in half twice
- Draw a design in each square using the same theme
- Choose the best design & make a rough
- Vector the image in it’s own Ai file
- Layout a comprehensive using the rough template from Ai
- Make a 4-Up
- Print a proof sheet
- Choose 25 sheets of paper
- Place the paper in tray 1 of printer, tell others NOT to print
- Send the job to the 419-C1 printer
- Collect & jog prints
- Cut prints apart
- Cut cardboard (mat board) for backing
- Make a mount for one print
- Pad the notepad
- Trim the edges
- Tuck thumbnails, rough, comp, mount & rubric into pad
- Turn in to bin

Lens Flare Background
- Follow the steps on the handout to make a flare brush
- Make a new document 11” x 17” & 300 ppi
- Use the brush to make the design
- Upload the document as a PSD to Schoology
Calendar
- Change the month & dates to fit each month
- Crop, resize & place photos for the month pages
- Add any other touches to month pages
- Place in the cover design (possibly using the lens flare) on page 1
- Place the collage on page 14
- Export the calendar
- Make a proof sheet & print it
- Adjust colors, errors as seen on proof
- Export the calendar as a Print PDF
- Upload PDF to Schoology
- Turn in physical copy of thumbnails, rough, & proof to bin

1. Practice Printing on Fabric, Interest in Transfers
2. Objectives to Accomplish Today:
Logo
- Choose a name or image for your artist
- Brainstorm & draw 4 thumbnails using that name or image
- Choose your favorite thumbnail
- Develop that design into a large, clean, colored rough
- Scan the rough
- Place the scan into an Ai file, lock layer, create second layer
- Vector your logo with shapes & pen tool
- Add color to the logo
- Save as an Ai file and upload the image w/thumb, rough to Schoology
Fabric Screen Print
- Choose an idea for the screen print
- Vector the image
- Scale the graphic to size (max 8”x 10.5”)
- Change one color to black, other to white
- Email me the file so I can create a positive
- Degrease screen & coat the screen
- Expose screen
- Washout screen
- Patch pinholes
- Cut paper to print on
- Blockout screen
- Print the first color
- Print the print accordingly
- Re-block the screen
- Print the second color
- Print the print accordingly
- Reclaim the screen
- Place thumb, rough, comp & print in bin
