Good morning and happy Friday! From what I'm hearing, the notebook cover is going pretty well I believe. I think you probably have plenty to do (notebook pages, cover, punching both, and completing the screen print) however if you have all of that done, you can start to plan ahead for the sublimation project. I have some products in the room that I can show you Monday (keychains, can coozies, coasters, mugs and travel cups, water bottles, mouse pads to name a few) but you can also check out this site where I purchase products for us to use. We will talk specifically about this on Monday. I will also show you how to put the finishing touches on the notebook to complete the binding. Hope you have a great day!

Digital Photography
Hello everyone, hope your day is going well. Today is the last day that I will be out, but I still have one more notes sheet for you and that's File Formats and Aspect Ratio.  The sub should have a packet for you to complete as you watch the video. Turn the completed note sheet in and I'll give you credit for it. As for the rest of the period... use it to make a proof sheet and turn in your Depth of Field photos, any of the exposure tasks from this week, or the Lens Flare project. Next Friday's photos are described here. I will explain in detail on Monday. You will need to install Adobe Lightroom on your phone to do it. Please use the time today to catch up, put the finishing touches on some of the work that you need to do, make a proof sheet or do the Lens Flare Background (that abstract looking design). Have a great weekend!

Video Game Design
Happy Friday everyone! I have a slide show lesson for you to watch and take notes on to get things started. This one is on Coordinate Location and Mapping. Please turn in the note sheet once you are done so that I can give you credit for it. Then you can simply continue to work on building the Alpha version of you your Pacman. That's all that I have for you for today. On Monday we will discuss animating a basic sprite and make a traditional pacman together in class. Have a great weekend!

Good morning! Hope all is well at NHS this morning. I don't have much new for you all today. If you didn't see it, I posted written directions for how to build the laminated cover page as an update on Schoology. It's not a handout with visual aids or anything but hopefully the directions will jog your memory of the steps that I showed you.
For the pages, if you have completed the design, print one sheet to the 419 printer. Take a look at the print, try to write over the lines and watermarks if you have any. If it's good, the add your 100 sheets to tray one and tell everyone else not to print. Send 100 copies to the 419 printer. Then you can use the comb binder to punch the pages.
Finally, there is the advertisement. You will need to take a photo of your product (so don't use something that you don't have or can't get access to). We can take the photo at school next week or you can take it on your own with your phone. If you have completed the planning, awesome, start building the page, vectors, the text, whatever you will need for it. Tomorrow you'll start experimenting with Photoshop in a new, small assignment, so use your time wisely today! Have a great day!

Digital Photography
Good morning all! Hope you're having a great day so far. Today I have a short note sheet for you to complete and turn in. The sub should have copies to give you. They are purple copies in a purple folder labeled White Balance. Once you've completed it, write you name on it and turn it in to the bin on my desk. Then I have a new project for you to work on. We will be making your own custom paint brush from a lens flare and then using that brush to paint an abstract design. You can see a bunch of examples, watch the video or find a digital copy of the handout here. I do have one a alteration to the handout though. Cross off step 7 of the first section. Otherwise the handout should be good to use. I'll be honest though, as always there is a lot that can go wrong if your not minding the details, so I would use the video instead! I have published the folders for yesterdays assignments too, so if you have them done, please upload the before and after. Hope you have a fantastic day!

Video Game Design
Good afternoon everyone. Hope your day is going well. I'm not going to ruin it with notes on anything like that. Instead I have the directions for the Alpha so that you an begin to build the game. That's all from me for today. Hope you have a great one!

Good morning all! Happy hump day! Today I would like you to start by watching my lesson on principles of design from the intro class. Once done, I have a kahoot that you can do for credit. If you score below an 85% you won't get credit or you'll have to take it again. I'm trusting you to do the right thing here and not cheat! The principles of design are important as they will be used heavily when grading your advertisement. Once you're done, continue to work on the notebook, screen print or planning for your advertisement. Remember that you should have a set of four thumbnails, a rough and then you can start to vector your elements for the comprehensive. That's all that I have for you for the day. Make it a great one!

Sorry, I forgot to add the link for the Kahoot!

Digital Photo Good morning camera geeks! Today we will stay on the exposure kick. I have a video for you to watch today on exposure compensation. No notes to take EXCEPT for the few words that are covered by photos. The sub should have a packet to give you. I'm not asking you to turn these in, but I am hoping that you do the right thing without me requiring you to turn them in. Then I have some exposure adjustments for you to do in Photoshop. I want you to find a photo that has a small area that is over exposed… perhaps the flash fired and washed it out. Use the burn tool to darken that area. On a separate photo, one where there is an area that is just too dark, use the Dodge tool to lighten it. These too are SPOT color corrections… not the entire photo. Then I would like you to use a photo in which the colors are drab and muted across the whole photo. Make a smart adjustment layer for hue and saturation. This will affect the image globally. Then finally find an image in which the exposure is just a little light or dark and make an adjustment layer for levels. There are videos for each of these and also red handouts as well. I know that there are four tasks and notes to watch/complete but they shouldn't be too tough.

Video Game Design

Good afternoon ladies and gents. Hope you're day is going well. Today the sub should have a notes packet on Tile Based Games for you to complete and turn in for credit. Make sure you add your name to the packet so I can give you credit for it. After the lesson, continue to work on sprites for your own version of a Pacman. Should be an easy day with plenty of time for you to work. Hope you have a fantastic day!

I checked in with Wyatt and Isobel on Friday and they seemed to be pretty comfortable with the lamination process. Wyatt is almost done with his, so if your really nice he may be able to answer questions if you have them. Isobel, well she is a bit scary but she is great with things like this! When I return next Monday I will show you how to close up the binding and complete your notebook. Good morning photographers, hope you had a great weekend! Today before you get started with anything, please ask the sub for the red Exposure Basics packet from one of the purple folders on my desk. Then I would like you to watch this video and complete the packet as if you would if I were there. Wanna get through it quicker? Watch it at 1.25 or 1.5 speed! As long as you get the information, it doesn't matter to me. Once your done, write your name on the packet and turn it in to the bin on my desk. I have the final video for the antiqued photo project for you to watch here. Once you've completed the project, save it as a PSD (since it has layers) and turn it in on Schoology. There is one other small task that I have for you for today. I would like you to use one of your photos that was shot at a dutch angle, or even just one that has something that is askew in it, and then straighten the object and crop the edges. It's all described here on the site. If you have any questions, just message or email me. I probably won't see your message until tonight but I will respond to it! Have a great day!

     -  Upload the before and after to schoology

Video Game Design
Good afternoon gamers. Today I want you to focus on your own pacman style game. Choose a theme, determine what objects will represent 5 ghost, one hero, food and a wall. Once you've determined this, start to draw your sprites. Of course, it you haven't competed Breakout, that's a good place to start for the day. If completed and turned in today it starts at a 90%, so the quicker you get it in, the better. That's all that I have for you for today. Take advantage of the time because tomorrow there will be more to do other than simply making your game. Have a great day!
