Screen Printing
- Choose a name or image for a company
- Brainstorm and draw 4 thumbnails
- Choose your favorite thumbnail
- Develop that design into a large, clean, colored rough
- Obtain, label, & degrease a screen
- Coat the screen
- Convert the vector to black & white, email to Mr. Tate
- Expose the screen
- Wash out the screen with a cone spray of water
- Patch Pinholes
- Block out the screen
- Cut paper to print on
- Cut out the comprehensive, center it on cut paper, tape in place
- Print the design
- Reblock the screen
- Reclaim the screen
- Mat the best print
- Paperclip thumb, rough, comp, 2 prints, matted & rubric
Type Search
- Obtain and label four sheets of paper
- 5 Roman, 5 Square (page 1)
- 10 Sans Serif (page 2)
- 10 Script (page 3)
- 1 Text, 9 Novelty (page 4)
- Cut out examples and glue them into the correct section
- Print cover page
- Staple all pages together
- Turn in Search to bin
Typography Assignment
- Download the starting file from TechGeek.Pro
- Create your own text in Illustrator that matches the example
- Save & upload the file to Schoology

Hello everyone, hope you're having a nice morning. Today is simply a day for you to work on your Typeface Search, Typography Assignment, Personifying a Word, Screen Print, Notepad or even your CD Project. Remember, there are only 6 more days left to turn in all of these projects and your Notepad is due tomorrow. Not a lot of time left, so make the most of the time that you have!

- Choose a theme for the screen print design
- Brainstorm and draw 4 thumbnails
- Choose your favorite thumbnail

- Vector the rough in Illustrator
- Change the color to black & white & size under 8”
- Obtain, label, & degrease a screen
- Coat the screen
- Convert the vector to black & white, email to Mr. Tate

Notepad
- Choose a theme for your notepad
- Grab a sheet of paper & fold in half twice
- Draw a design in each square using the same theme
- Choose the best design & make a rough
- Vector the image in it’s own Ai file
- Layout a comprehensive using the rough template from Ai
- Make a 4-Up
- Print a proof sheet
- Choose 25 sheets of paper
- Place the paper in tray 1 of printer, tell others NOT to print
- Send the job to the 419-C1 printer
- Collect & jog prints
- Put prints apart
- Cut cardboard (mat board) for backing
- Make a mount for one print
- Pad the notepad
- Trim the edges
- Tuck thumbnails, rough, comp, mount & rubric into pad
- Turn in to bin

Hello camera nerds! Happy St. Patrick's Day. While Sarah and others compete in a the design competition, you have the whole period to work on any of your back work (which is due tomorrow at the latest), the calendar, lens flare, collage or proof sheets. Tomorrow the contest photos are due, so plan ahead for that. Speaking of tomorrow, we will be in 419 tomorrow for class so we can start to create mats for the contest photo. Lots to do and little time! Hope you have a great day!

Lens Flare Background
- Follow the steps on the handout to make a flare brush
- Make a new document 11” x 17” & 300 ppi
- Use the brush to make the design
- Upload the document as a PSD to Schoology
Film Strip Collage
- Choose 6 photos for the film strip, one for the background photo
- Crop each of the strip photo so they are are all the same aspect ratio
- Crop the background photo to 8 x 10
- Build the photo strip in Bridge
- Add the strip to the background photo
- Create the film
- Make the film wave
- Save as a PNG & PSD
- Upload the PNG to Schoology
Calendar
- Change the month & dates to fit each month
- Crop, resize & place photos for the month pages
- Add any other touches to month pages
- Place in the cover design (possibly using the lens flare) on page 1
- Place the collage on page 14
- Export the calendar
- Make a proof sheet & print it
- Adjust colors, errors as seen on proof
- Export the calendar as a Print PDF
- Upload PDF to Schoology
- Turn in physical copy of thumbnails, rough, & proof to bin
