1. Review Ad Critique Assignment
2. Demo: Uploading, Downloading Your Ad
3. Demo: Cropping & Straightening
4. Objectives to Accomplish Today:
  Principles of Design
     - Find an effective advertisement from a magazine
     - Take a picture of the ad & upload it to Google Drive
     - Download the photo from Drive to your laptop
     - Open the photo in Photoshop
     - Straighten & Crop the photo
     - Jot down some notes & ideas about it’s use of the POD’s
         - How does it use each of the 6 principles?
         - Is it a good use of the principle? Why?
         - Is there anything that could make the ad more effective? How?
     - Make a Screencast using these notes
     - Upload the Screencast to Schoology
  Notepad
     - Choose a theme for your notepad
     - Grab a sheet of paper & fold in half twice
     - Draw a design in each square using the same theme
     - Choose the best design & make a rough
     - Vector the image in it’s own Ai file
     - Layout a comprehensive using the rough template from Ai
     - Make a 4-Up
     - Print a proof sheet
     - Choose 25 sheets of paper
     - Place the paper in tray 1 of printer, tell others NOT to print
     - Send the job to the 419-C1 printer
     - Collect & jog prints
     - Put prints apart
     - Cut cardboard (mat board) for backing
     - Make a mount for one print
     - Pad the notepad
     - Trim the edges
     - Tuck thumbnails, rough, comp, mount & rubric into pad
     - Turn in to bin

1. Demo: Setting Up the Tips Book in InDesign
2. Objectives to Accomplish Today:
   Tips Book
     - Research tips for good photography
     - Choose  tips for your book
     - Rephrase & restate the tip in your own words
     - Choose how you will show the tip in your book
     - Draw 4 thumbnails for your book layout
     - Choose the best layout and make a full size rough for it
     - Layout the book template in Adobe InDesign
     - Add your text to the template
     - Take & import your photos for the book
         - Need a before & after, with/without
         - Take a few shots for each
     - Edit your levels & color
     - Crop & resize the photo to fit the box in InDesign
     - Place your pics in InDesign
     - Build the front background in Photoshop & place into InDesign
     - Export the file as a Print PDF & upload it to Schoology

   Merging Project
     - Find a photo
     - Choose a partner
     - Show your partner your photo, determine shooting
     - Take photos
     - Upload the photo(s) to the computer
     - Find a photo of a prop
         - Not a one color background
         - Higher res is better
     - Make a practice selection of prop
     - Make a legit selection of you from the photo your partner took
     - Turn the selection into a cutout
     - Adjust the color temperature on the cutout
     - Add the cutout to the picture from the web
     - Resize the merged, composite image
     - Save & Upload the merged photos to Schoology
   Practice Selection
     - Find a photo of a prop
         - Not a one color background
         - Higher res is better
     - Make a practice selection of prop
     - Turn the selection into a cutout

5. Objectives to Accomplish Today:
   Practice Vector
     - Launch Ai
     - Place the logo
     - Create a new layer, lock the first
     - Change the fill to none, stroke to bright color
     - Zoom in (Ctrl +) on the inner ear
     - Draw the three lines to make the shape
     - Select and color the inner ear
     - Draw the white silhouette of the head
     - Color it and send it to the back
     - Draw the blue oval with cutout
     - Color the shape
     - Draw the final white outer oval & color it
     - Upload the final image to Schoology
    Illustrator Dog
     - Find & download the file
     - Create new layer, lock the first
     - Follow steps on handout to create the dog
     - Be as precise as possible in shape, size & color
     - Save the images as an Ai file
     - Upload the final image to Schoology
